The easiest way to reach us is by email or WhatsApp. For short stays, direct contact (WhatsApp to telephone) is often the fastest.

We’re a little off the main road, but that’s part of the charm.
For Short Stays (travellers) you need to have your own car. Use this Google Maps link, and follow the map. If you get lost, ask the villagers in Mourelos, or call us.
For Coliving (Creative Residency) if you’re unsure about the best route, just ask! We’re happy to recommend the easiest way depending on where you’re coming from. Here are some recommendations:
✈️ By Plane
The closest airports are in Vigo (VGO), Santiago de Compostela (SCQ), Porto (OPO), or Madrid (MAD).
Vigo (VGO): Daily connections to a few European cities. From (VGO), you have a 1:30 drive to O Castro. You can take a direct bus to Monforte de Lemos, or Chantada. And from there you can get a taxi to O Castro.
Santiago de Compostela (SCQ): Daily connections to a many European cities. From (SCQ), you have a 1:30 drive to O Castro. You can take a direct bus to Monforte de Lemos, or Chantada. And from there you can get a taxi to O Castro.
Porto (OPO): The best option for North Americans with many International flights. From (OPO), you have a 2:30 drive to O Castro. You can take a direct bus to Vigo, then another bus to Chantada or Monforte de Lemos. And from there you can get a taxi to O Castro.
Madrid (MAD): From Madrid you can take a rapid train (2:30 hours) to Ourense. Then you have a 45-minute-drive to O Castro, or you can get a bus to Monforte de Lemos, or Chantada. And from there you can get a taxi to O Castro.
🚂 By Train
Closest train stations are in Monforte de Lemos (normal trains only) or Ourense with a new rapid train line to Madrid (2:30 hours). For tickets check the Renfe website.
Vigo: Daily rapid trains to Ourense. Daily normal trains to Monforte de Lemos.
Madrid: Daily rapid trains to Ourense (2:30 hours). Daily normal trains to Monforte de Lemos.
🚌 By Bus
By bus you need to arrive to either Chantada or Monforte de Lemos. After that you have a 20-minute-taxi ride. The two bus companies are: MonBus and ALSA.
Chantada: Daily connections with Ourense, Vigo, Santiago de Compostela, Lugo, and Madrid.
Monforte de Lemos: Daily connections with Ourense, Vigo, Santiago de Compostela, Lugo, Madrid, A Coruña, or Ponferrada.

He can pick you up, drop you off, or even pick up some groceries for you.
Rates are approximate: Escairón 10€, Chantada 25€, Monforte de Lemos 25€, Ourense 60€.
Closest Towns
Escairón: (15 minutes drive) Smallest of the three towns, centre of O Saviñao. Market day, some cafés, restaurants, a few supermarkets, three bakeries, a health centre, tool shops, and a good place to do your shopping and grab a drink.
Chantada: (25 minutes drive) Second-largest town, a charming old centre, some really cool artistic events and festivals, open supermarkets during lunch time, various cafes and restaurants, market days, health centre, and a great place to visit if you want a night out of the village.
Monforte de Lemos: (25 minutes drive)The biggest town in the area, hospital, supermarkets, print shops, tool and paint shops and whatever you can’t find in the first two towns. A stroll by the river is nice, and the old town has some cool venues for local art.
