Available in Limited Seasons

The Domes

Each dome is a private, standalone space, thoughtfully designed for all seasons; even though short-term stays are offered only in selected seasons. Inside, you’ll find: a comfortable real bed, a private bathroom with hot shower, heating and cooling systems, electricity and lighting, panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Cool in summer. Warm and cozy in winter. Quiet all year.

Living Close to Nature, Without Giving Up Comfort

O Castro is not a hotel, and not a campsite. It’s a quiet eco-lodge, open to short-stay guests only during specific times of the year, when it does not overlap with residency programs. This ensures: calm and privacy for guests, focus and continuity for residents, and a respectful rhythm for the place itself.

The Kitchen & Shared Moments

The communal kitchen is a welcoming, lived-in space at the heart of O Castro. Guests are welcome to use it to prepare their own meals, take their time, and enjoy the simple pleasure of cooking while surrounded by nature. It’s fully equipped with everything you need and shared respectfully with others staying on site. When schedules align, the kitchen often becomes a place to linger. We normally cook Persian-inspired fusion meals, using local seasonal products and wine from nearby neighbors and vineyards. Sometimes meals are shared, sometimes everyone cooks their own thing, both rhythms are equally welcome. After dinner, it’s not unusual to stay a little longer, for dessert, conversation, laughter, and the slow unwinding of the day.

Culture Happens Here

O Castro Art Village is first and foremost a cultural space. From time to time, we host festivals, workshops, screenings, concerts, and small public events on the premises. If your stay happens to overlap with one of these moments, you may find yourself enjoying: An experimental music performance at dusk, a film screening in a cozy indoor or outdoor setting, an informal talk, , a video installation in the forest, gathering, or shared meal. These events are never intrusive and always respect the calm of the place, they are part of the living cultural rhythm of O Castro. You can come for the quiet, and occasionally stumble upon something unexpected.

Two Ways to Wake Up

O Castro Art Village offers two types of domes, each with its own atmosphere; both quiet, immersive, and deeply connected to the landscape.

River View Domes

Set on open ground with wide horizons, the River View Domes look out over the Miño river valley and the layered hills of the Ribeira Sacra.

The views are expansive, calm, and constantly changing — light, fog, vineyards, and water moving through the landscape.

Many guests describe this viewpoint as one of the most striking in the area, especially at sunrise and dusk.

Forest Domes

Tucked beneath oak canopies, the Forest Domes are sheltered, intimate, and green.

From inside, the view feels almost like a tree house; branches, leaves, birds, and filtered light creating a fairytale-like atmosphere.

These domes are ideal if you’re drawn to shade, privacy, and the feeling of being held by the forest.

Both dome types offer the same level of comfort and amenities.

The difference is simply how you’d like to greet the day.

Open horizon or forest embrace — the choice is yours, subject to availability.

Dome Capacity & Layout

Each dome can comfortably host up to four people.

The layout includes:

  • A separable matrimonial bed on the main floor

  • A mezzanine level with two mattresses and bedding

This makes the domes well suited for couples, friends, or small families, while still allowing everyone their own sense of space.
