Víctor Duplá – Performing Art Workshop – O Castro Art Village

“In an increasingly polarized world, creative language in all its forms is an antidote to meaninglessness, fostering fellowship without distinction of race, ethnicity, language, gender, sex, ideology, or creed. Artistic language unites rather than divides. Theater, dance, and music, as performing disciplines, are powerful tools for expanding self-awareness, broadening consciousness, revealing the invisible, and exploring our creative potential in communion with others.”

Víctor Duplá

Content:

We will play with improvisation as a vehicle to explore three complementary languages, both in the process and the outcome of the performing experience: bodywork, text, and music.

Music will play a leading role in this creative workshop, as we will incorporate live electronic music with synthesizers and other electronic elements led by F1N05, both during the exploratory process and in the staging. What makes this workshop unique is the use of live music as the primary vehicle for inspiration, shaping the creation of the pieces. The intention is for text, movement, or dance to emerge naturally from the exploration of musical themes, culminating in a collective creative proposal.

We welcome participants to bring their own ideas or texts they’d like to explore in advance—whether it’s a monologue from a play or audiovisual piece, a literary or poetic text, song lyrics or melody, a newspaper article, or an original piece of writing. These can serve as starting material or be incorporated into the final work, which we will share with an audience as part of the experience.

This creative workshop aims to be a safe space where participants can play and create freely and confidently, without fear of the outcome.

Facilitators:

F1N05

F1N05 makes his own synthesizers and plays them. His transition into the electronic scene was sudden and catalyzed by his interest in making his own instruments. He started his career playing in surf bands in early 2000s and progressed into the shoegaze and metal scenes. His last contribution as a guitar player manifested itself in the grainy sound of Voltaica. To him however, there was a limitation to the possibilities of a guitar. His imagination demanded a wider range of sounds. Thus, he started his plunge into the realm of electronic music where he could apply his engineering skills to the expansion of his sonic palette. He currently lives in Chantada, Galicia, making noise and synthesizers, while studying philosophy.
