O Castro Art Village is a space for rural experimentation. It is a creative center that combines the arts with philosophy, critical thinking, yoga, nature, and sustainable gastronomy in order to cultivate balance between the world within and without.
We are restoring an abandoned village in the Ribeira Sacra to create a multidisciplinary space for sustainable rural regeneration , serving well-being and the culture. To do this, we will offer you workshops and retreats in art and nature, yoga and meditation; hiking routes and forest baths; spaces for debate and exchange of ideas; cinema, concerts and shows… We have it all planned.
Our Facilities
We offer a newly renovated activity hall, equipped with kitchen and eatery, as well as modern glamping-style geodesic domes surrounded by majestic nature. From our facilities you can enjoy the breathtaking views of the mountains and the canyons of the Miño river. It is an ideal place to disconnect from the mundane and reconnect with the essence.
A playground for adults and children alike
O Castro Art Village is founded on the three essential pillars of Experimentation, Creativity and Playing with the arts. We are here to connect once again with our inner child. We believe that once the arts are democratized, everyone has the ability to be an artist or benefit from the healing essences of the arts. For this we have built a miniature world where more time is spent on playing rather than “following”, more emphasis is put on the benefits of failure, than the grandeur of “success”, and more contentment is gained through the creation of new ideas rather than the consumption of the old ones.

FAQs
It is a spherical structure invented in the 20th century by the American architect R. Buckminster Fuller. They are considered superbly efficient structures, since minimal materials are required to build them, they provide ample space in ratio to their small surface, and maintain stable interior temperatures thanks to their concave shape. Currently at O Castro Art Village we have four domes but we intend to build three more soon.
Our domes are designed to accommodate up to four people; ideal for small groups of friends or families, as well as for those who wish to enjoy the experience as couples or individuals.
Artistic residency programs are meant to facilitate and support artists with a space to get a project done and exhibited. An artistic residency program allows you to live and work in a new environment, different from your conventional studio or workspace. Our artistic residency program is our contribution in support of emerging and mid-career artists from around the world.
At O Castro Art Village we offer accommodation in geodesic domes with private bathroom and a breathtaking panoramic view of the Ribeira Sacra vineyards and the Miño river.
Our activity hall has a full kitchen, dining area, and an additional bathroom for your comfort.
